Zain KSA wins Speedtest Award™ for Kingdom’s fastest fixed network Q1-Q2 2020

Zain KSA announces it has been recognized as possessing the fastest fixed network speed in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, by Ookla®, the company behind Speedtest®, the worldwide leader in internet testing and analysis. Over ten million tests are actively initiated by consumers each day across all Speedtest platforms, with nearly 20 billion completed to date. As a result, Ookla has the most comprehensive analytics on worldwide internet performance and accessibility.
Having compared millions of consumer-initiated tests across all Speedtest platforms, Speed ScoreTM incorporates a measure of each provider’s download and upload speed to rank network speed performance, with Zain KSA’s Fixed network ranking first in the Kingdom with respect to fixed network speeds.
This latest recognition adds to a growing list of successes related to the commercial launch of Zain KSA’s 5G network in October 2019, landing the position of the largest commercial launch in the Middle East, Europe, and Africa and 4th largest globally. Zain KSA’s expansion of 5G coverage has been continuing at significant pace since, with more than 30 cities now being covered by the technology through 2600 towers.
