Zain KSA Takes Part in My Bicycle Group Race for Amateurs
Zain KSA participatedin the open bicycle race events (Darajati), held byThe Saudi My-Bicycle Group in association with The Saudi Cycling Federation. This support aims to ensure the success of the race whose goal is to spread the idea of using bicycles as an environment friendly means of transportation and a tool to maintain one’s health.
The company gave the chance to members of The Disabled Children Association to participate in the race using personalized wheelchairs. It also presented them with motivational gifts for the sake of morally supporting and encouraging them to participate in public events. These efforts come in pursuance of the cooperation agreement joining the company with the association, for which Zain KSA launched a campaign supporting the race through its accounts on Facebook (Zain KSA) and Twitter (@ZainKSA).
200 amateur cyclists participated in the 3 hour race on a route parallel to Princess Nora University in Riyadh. The racers have been divided into 3 groups (mountain bike riders, road bike riders and hybrid bike riders), competing on distances reaching 35 km.
Zain KSA’s support is part of its constant efforts to promote the effectiveness of Corporate Social Responsibly programs, and contribute in national events that aim to providing youth in the Kingdom with an appropriate environment for practicing their hobbies, in addition to raising health and environmental awareness and fair competition values among members of society.
This open amateur bicycle race (My Bike) is the first of its kind in the Kingdom in terms of organization and media coverage; it is also the first collaboration between the Saudi Cycling Federation and a voluntary association to hold a cycling race.
