High cost of roaming abolished: Zain Saudi Arabia introduces ‘Vodafone Passport’

"Zain KSA" announces it has launched the international roaming service ‘Vodafone Passport, a result of the non-equity strategic partnership agreement signed between Zain and Vodafone back in 2012.

Due to its simplistic set-up, this passport to the world is comforting as customers never have to worry about complicated and expensive roaming charges. All usage from calls, SMS and data will be charged at one fixed rate without the need to register for the service.

Vodafone Passport Service offers all Zain KSA individual and business customers’ calls, SMS and data usage while roaming at the rate 0.75 SAR per min/sms/MB
The new service is available in the most visited destinations across the Middle East, Europe, America & Asia, and requires no subscription fees, as users only have to select the network operator for each country which is specified on the company’s website www.sa.zain.com.

Fraser Curley Chief Executive Officer of Zain KSA said: “This tremendous roaming solution is another significant benefit that Zain's partnership with Vodafone has brought to the company over the last six months, and we are actively leveraging the know-how, resources and services of the world's leading operator.”

Curley added further, “with the large number of Saudi citizens and expats travelling abroad this summer, the benefits of this service will be immediately felt.”

Vodafone’s global operations, affiliates and partners are providing Zain KSA with tremendous benefits in terms of innovation, product maturity, and international reach and footprint.

Zain KSA in coordination with Vodafone and other key partners is currently working on developing numerous product offerings for both private and corporate customers. These services will be offered in conjunction with the major network improvements that Zain has been undertaking, notably the development of its award winning 4G LTE data network in the Kingdom.

Regarding its partnership with Vodafone, one of the highlights of this agreement was the Zain branding of the two Vodafone McLaren Mercedes racing cars and teams at the recent Bahrain Gulf Air Formula 1 Grand Prix that was viewed by a worldwide audience exceeding 100 million. ENDS
