Zain SA and Integrated Dawiyat Sign Binding Agreement to Deliver Fiber Based, Broadband Services to Households and the Business Sector

Aims to Provide High-Quality Internet Services for More Than 180,000 Households.

Zain SA signed two new agreements with Integrated Dawiyat, a subsidiary of Saudi Electricity Company (SEC), one of which will lead to the provision of high-speed broadband services for an additional number of recipients in new cities and neighborhoods, whereas the second agreement is to provide Telecommunications services to the business sector. The signing of the former agreement took place at the company's headquarters in Riyadh. Fahad Al-Sudairy, Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Electricity Company, was in attendance. The objective of this agreement is to deliver Fiber Optic Broadband services to many regions and cities, reflecting both companies’ keenness to provide all their services to their valued customers and to contribute to the realization of the 2030 Vision.

This agreement is indeed an important milestone that will make a huge difference with regard to the quality and reach of Fiber Optic Broadband services, providing high-quality Internet services in different regions and cities of Saudi Arabia.

The agreement was signed by Eng. Sultan AbdulAziz Al Deghaither, Chief Executive Officer of Zain SA, and Dr. Ahmed Abbas Sindi, Chief Executive Officer of Dawiyat. Executives from both companies as well as a number of selected specialists attended the occasion.

Dr. Sindi stated "In addition to our contribution to the 2030 Vision’s the National Broadband Expansion Initiative, both Dawiyat and Zain SA will provide Telecommunications services to the Kingdom’s business sector, which in turn will include both public and private sectors, whether public or private. Furthermore, Dawiyat and Zain SA will provide FTTH service for a second launch to residential customers in the following cities of (Riyadh, Dammam, Jeddah and Medina), thus serving 101,678 additional households. Our signing of these two agreements comes in support of the continued success of our partnership with Zain SA and Integrated Dawiyat’s network, which is currently expanding its reach to around 180,000 households across the Kingdom.” He went on to add that the company will also launch the FTTH Network so that it will reach a total of 744,500 households by 2020.

Commenting on this agreement, Eng. Sultan AbdulAziz Aldeghaither, CEO of Zain SA, reiterated that “the company is pleased to have signed such substantial agreement with a highly specialized company such as Dawiyat, to deliver Fiber Optic Service to the business sector as well as to 180,000 households across the Kingdom. This step will reflect positively upon the reach of Broadband Services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In turn, this will also contribute to the realization of the 2030 Vision. He then added that Zain SA will spare no effort to provide excellent services suitable for the Saudi ICT sector.”
