Zain KSA Wins Ghazi Al Gosaibi Award for the Best Work Environment for Women
Zain KSA, the leading telecommunications and digital services provider in Saudi Arabia, has won the Ghazi Al Gosaibi Award for the Best Work Environment for Women. The announcement was made by Dr. Hamid Abdulwahid, President of the Committee and Chair of the Consultative Committee of Ghazi Al Gosaibi, following the Committee's endorsement of the award recipients in its second edition. This recognition highlights Zain KSA's dedication to fostering a conducive workplace environment that empowers women, upholds principles of gender equality in job opportunities, prioritizes women's job satisfaction, and invests in their training and development.
Since 2017, the company has spearheaded pioneering initiatives aimed at bolstering female recruitment rates, amplifying their presence in leadership positions, and curating an exemplary workplace. Zain KSA's initiatives transcend mere gender equality by showcasing a steadfast dedication to implementing comprehensive training and development programs tailored to support and empower female talent, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030’s objectives, and thereby enhancing women’s pivotal role in propelling socio-economic growth.
On this occasion, VP of Human Resources, Loluwah bint Saad AlNowaiser, stated: “At Zain KSA, we are immensely honored to receive the Ghazi Al Gosaibi Award for the Best Work Environment for Women. This accolade culminates a journey that began in 2017. As one of the leading national companies, we dedicated our efforts to empowering women in the workplace. This initiative stemmed from our core values, which are central to our corporate culture evolution. We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone has equal opportunities, regardless of gender. In a remarkably short period, our targeted initiatives and programs have effectively contributed to Saudi Vision 2030's objectives for women's empowerment, particularly within the ICT sector and national human resources development. Our dedicated efforts have yielded remarkable outcomes.
Since the inception of our initiative, women's participation has seen a growth of 145.5% and an impressive 87% surge in female representation in leadership roles. Concurrently, we have placed policies to foster an optimal work environment for women, offering immense benefits. These include a 50-day maternity leave, in addition to the standard leave. Additionally, we have extended the flexible childcare period to four years post-birth. Zain KSA extended its efforts to empower Saudi women on a broader scale, launching several development and training programs. The Women in Tech program provides guidance and support to female university students in STEM fields across the Kingdom. Another program, Evolve, targets fresh graduates, designed to empower Saudi young women and men and bolster the Saudi ICT sector with national capabilities. It provides graduates with workplace training, offering them skill development opportunities to allow them to join the workforce with competence. We also signed an MoU with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development to train 50,000 Saudi men and women in the next three years, as part of the national campaign to stimulate training within the private sector, Wad. Going forward, we will continue to advance women’s empowerment in the workplace.”
Zain KSA has earned the HRSD Labor Award for ICT Talent Localization for the second year. The award is part of HRSD's ongoing initiatives to enhance localization across enterprises. The company recently won the “Best Program for Diversity and Inclusion” award at the Telecom Review Leaders’ Summit.
