Neom Bay Airport has become the 1st airport in the region to offer a 5G network

Zain KSA announced that its 5G technology has become available at this new and vibrant airport; which is yet another testimony to Zain’s dedication to introducing state of the art technologies to match the advancements seen in all Saudi mega-projects, which are all part of Vision 2030.

This announcement comes on the heels of yet another Zain KSA milestone, as the company recently announced it had successfully placed the first phone call -in the Middle East- via its 5G network, which enabled the company to break the speed barrier of 1000 Mbps.

Zain KSA stated that providing 5G network coverage at Neom Bay Airport is a continuation of the company’s commitment toward active contribution of Vision 2030, and what better place than neom, the city that represents a tangible and magnificent investment in technology and innovation, offer such technology first! Zain also added that Wi-Fi technology is also offered.

On this occasion, Eng. Sultan bin Abdulaziz AlDeghaither, CEO of Zain KSA, stated: "We, at Zain KSA, are immensely proud to be an active part of the Neom project; an ambitious project which we are all witnessing become a reality today, all praise be to Allah."

In his statement, Eng. AlDegaither also offered his sincerest thanks and appreciation to the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Highness the Crown Prince -may Allah protect them, for the unwavering support they have extended- and continue to extend- to the private sector in general, and the ICT sector in particular, all of which have naturally led to improving the quality of services.

Zain KSA CEO also reiterated that the company aims to introduce more technological advancement into the local market by capitalizing on the company’s human capital and technological prowess to meet the needs of its customers on the one hand, and contribute real added value to the ICT sector on the other.

It is worth noting that Neom, “the city of dreamers,” is a site full unlimited potential and opportunities. Spanning a total area of 26.5 thousand square kilometres, the project already boasts a number of unique features, moderate climate and diverse terrain. The project is distinguished by its full utilization of next generation technologies to construct- from scratch- and in a matter of a few years, a city that will rival other popular cities that required hundreds of years to develop and become attractions.
