Zain KSA has sealed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON), offering 5G, telecommunications and high-speed internet services, as well as cloud and IoT services across MODON’s industrial cities, which enables factories to achieve digital transformation in their operations and to continue to meet the requirements of the fourth industrial revolution. As per this agreement, both parties will unify their efforts for the purpose of spreading awareness about the significance of digital transformation for factories and exchanging expertise in the field of developing the infrastructure and modern technologies, including digital training and remote training. All that serves to stimulate MODON factories’ transformation to next-generation production operations, operation management, and supply chains, promoting the competitiveness of the industrial sector and giving it the lead in achieving economic diversification, in accordance with the Saudi Vision 2030 goals.
On his part, MODON’s CEO Eng. Khaled bin Mohammed Al-Salem said, “The MoU is an extension to the long-established collaboration between MODON and Zain KSA, and it cements the success we achieved together in securing 5G coverage for the second industrial city of Dammam. Building on this accomplishment and strengthening it to serve the development of an advanced industrial Saudi framework expands the horizons of Saudi industries and boosts its contribution to the fourth industrial revolution through achieving comprehensive digital transformation in the sector. The MoU aligns with the new regulations MODON recently issued and foregrounds our desire to enable the Saudi industry and the national competencies in this field and to boost its competitiveness in the international and regional markets, while making it more attractive for investors to bring and nationalize local and international investments which will add value to the national economy.”
Commenting on the signing of the MoU, Zain KSA’s CEO Eng. Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al-Deghaither stated, “The MoU with the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON) deepens the longstanding relationship of mutual collaboration between us and highlights the future goals sought from this agreement. The MoU will help factories and SMEs in attaining the ultimate benefits from Zain KSA’s innovative services which have stood out at the local and international level. This success has gained the Company multiple accolades as Zain KSA was granted by Opensignal, the independent global standard for analysing consumer mobile experience, all three awards: “Best 5G Availability”; “Best Download Speed Experience - 5G Users”; and “Best 5G Download Speed.” Similarly, Zain KSA won the SpeedTest award for the “fastest fixed network” in the Kingdom from globally acclaimed Ookla for the year 2020. Zain KSA also ranked first in the "Meqyas" report issued by CITC for the 4th quarter of 2020, as the fastest fixed internet in the Kingdom, and the largest 5G network coverage across the Kingdom. Furthermore, Zain KSA managed to progress to the 12th rank in Saudi’s top 50 brands list, as per Brand Finance’s annual report on brand evaluation.
