Zain KSA Signs Several Strategic Partnerships and MoUs to Support Digital Transformation and Improve the Quality of Life in The Kingdom

In conjunction with its participation in the Mobile World Congress (MWC) held in Barcelona from February 28 to March 3, 2022, Zain KSA signed a number of memorandums of understanding and partnership agreements with tech industry giants from around the world. Through these global agreements and partnerships, Zain KSA, Saudi Arabia's leading communications and digital services company, is expanding its 5G and future technologies. Zain KSA recently launched the region’s first 5G Stand-Alone network, reaffirming its leadership in the field after having rolled out the largest 5G network in Europe and the Middle East.


During its participation in this global event, Zain KSA launched the 5G Local Area Network (5G LAN) service, becoming the first operator in the Middle East and North Africa to launch this cutting-edge technology. This advanced technology will allow Zain KSA to offer a virtualized 5G LAN, built upon 5G Stand-Alone technology, to offer its subscribers a modern, reliable and secure experience, regardless of the number of devices and the nature of their network connection.


In line with its strategy to expand the 5G experience in the Kingdom and move from 5G use cases to 5G-based applications and beyond, Zain KSA has signed an MoU with Huawei to enhance its digital infrastructure and strengthen its value proposition in delivering the best digital experiences and most innovative services to its individual and business users. In order to expand the smart services for its networks, Zain KSA has also signed an MoU with Cisco to develop the best-known smart operating solutions for telecommunication networks. Furthermore, Zain KSA signed an MoU with Nokia to launch cutting-edge 5G capabilities and deliver innovative applications and services catering to businesses and individuals.


In another context, Zain KSA announced that it has strengthened its partnership with NVIDIA, the world's largest cloud computing company, to expand the GeForce NOW cloud gaming platform to serve regional markets, making Zain KSA the only telecommunications provider in the region to provide this service.
In order to expand the virtual reality (VR) experience in the Kingdom, Zain KSA announced its agreement with HTC to introduce the VIVE system for VR technologies in the Kingdom to provide advanced digital experiences based on the advanced 5G network. Zain KSA has also strengthened its partnership with Ericsson to develop digital charging systems for the 5G Stand-Alone technology.
