Following Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Zain KSA and Nokia sign Two MoUs

 

Zain KSA and Nokia have signed two memorandums of understanding aimed at delivering the latest innovative solutions to Zain KSA customers, creating a new quantum leap for the ICT sector in the local market, and providing new and innovative technical services to its customers, in particular, and the business sector, in general.

Signing of the MoUs with too place last Monday at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

The MoUs will allow Zain KSA to introduce more and more IoT-related services and applications in a quicker and more efficient way, as well as provide innovative and integrated solutions for the corporate and public sectors in the Kingdom. This will also contribute to the company's digital initiatives and toward the digital transformation plans within Vision 2030.

Together, Zain KSA and Nokia will provide the Saudi market with the latest innovative solutions, including IoT, cloud services, security applications, and high-speed networking solutions, which would all leverage Zain's unique infrastructure and network, and Nokia's innovative solutions.

As part of the first MoU, Zain KSA will benefit from the Nokia World Wide Web for Intent of Things (WING), which enables the company to launch new IoT services and applications quickly to enterprise customers, enhanced by four newly launched vertical applications in logistics, Smart agriculture, asset management and bio-wealth management, thereby allowing service providers to launch IoT services with minimal investment in infrastructure. In addition, the two companies are looking at joint marketing opportunities for IoT solutions and ways to develop the Internet in the Kingdom.

The second MoU will enable Zain KSA and Nokia to offer innovative business solutions that include cloud services, security solutions, wireless connectivity and IoT for various sectors such as aviation, energy, transportation, healthcare, And water, as well as the security sector.

Commenting on these MoUs, Eng. Sultan Bin AbdulAziz AlDeghaither, CEO of Zain KSA, stated: "Our initiatives in activating IoT and Smart Cities, in partnership with Nokia, will enable us to accelerate efforts to build a modern Internet infrastructure for IoT, business productivity and improvement of quality of life in the Kingdom, "adding that “Zain KSA and Nokia will jointly explore new business models and technical requirements for IoT.”
